On March 4, 2012, Vladimir Putin was re-elected to his third term as president. After widespread protests and allegations of electoral fraud, he was inaugurated on May 7, 2012, and shortly after taking office appointed Medvedev as prime minister. Once more at the helm, Putin has continued to make controversial changes to Russia's domestic affairs and foreign policy.  

Sorry to be a spoilsport about sonic weapons. I've always wanted to be able to wire up a couple of speakers in my basement lab and run around blowing holes in things and chasing away supervillains, but most sonic weapons are more hype than hyper. But the uses of sound in the future probably hold more interesting promise than the ability to destroy things.

His last world tour was a 'goodbye' tour. The aging pianist, in his 80s, still managed to exhilarate his audiences. At this stage he was performing purely for the love of music.
